Dear Ave Europa members and friends,
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our most recent General Assembly. You helped shape a truly remarkable weekend – with strong panels, a gripping debate, and outstanding contributions throughout. It was an enriching and energising experience for all of us.
Ave Europa stands for one clear goal: renewing the European political landscape. We propose solutions that could save our democratic, liberal, and law-abiding Europe – one we defend every day. But these values are being attacked by extremists who openly shout “no borders no nations”, the exact formula that has degraded the legitimacy of European states in so many ways and is driving millions towards the actual enemies of what was built over the last 40 years.
We wish to address our newly engaged German audience directly and clarify recent events surrounding our General Assembly.
In the days leading up to the event, false claims circulated alleging that “far-right extremists” would gather at our Assembly. We reject these baseless accusations in the strongest possible terms. We are currently preparing legal action against those responsible for spreading this disinformation. The origin of these claims appears linked to organisations operating within far-left networks, with indications of proximity to pro-Russian narratives and aligned local media amplification.
One such organisation publicly labelled us as extremists without ever contacting us. Our positions were deliberately distorted and misrepresented. During the event, a small group associated with these circles appeared on site. Their conduct included photographing participants, including children, without consent and distributing these images across their networks. We are pursuing legal avenues in response.
More concerningly, targeted pressure and intimidation extended beyond the event itself. Members of our panel and invited speakers were subjected to harassment and exposure attempts. Some withdrew from participation as a result. This represents a coordinated effort to silence open debate through intimidation – something we will not accept.
We also note that parts of the local media coverage surrounding the event raise serious questions about neutrality. Certain outlets appear closely connected to local political actors, which may explain the reliance on speculation rather than evidence. Claims that we sought to exclude press access are incorrect. We complied with venue rules while remaining available for open discussion outside. We expect factual corrections where misrepresentations have occurred.
At the same time, we recognise that not all coverage will portray us as “inoffensive” or conventional – and that is not something we seek. A movement aiming to reshape European politics should aim to defy moralistic groundstanding.
Europe at a crossroads
Europe is at a decisive moment. Around 40 percent of Europeans now vote for Eurosceptic or farright parties. In Germany, support for the AfD approaches 30 percent. The past decade has shown that moralising rhetoric and superficial responses have failed to reverse this trend – in many cases, they have reinforced it.
Migration and internal security remain the central drivers of this shift. For too long, these concerns were either downplayed or inadequately addressed by mainstream actors. Denial and half-measures created the space in which more radical forces could grow.
Ave Europa offers a different approach: one that confronts these issues directly while firmly anchoring them within a pro-European, democratic framework.
On our invited speakers
Our guest list sparked discussion – deliberately so. We invited dissident voices from within Eurosceptic parties to shed light on internal dynamics, including Russian influence. This was not an endorsement, but a structured debate.
We reject the idea that arguments become dangerous simply by being heard. Avoiding open discussion is precisely what has allowed these movements to strengthen.
We also wish to express our appreciation for Professor Engels, whose contribution highlighted key areas where our views converge – particularly on the need for a confident, sovereign, and democratic Europe capable of acting decisively in its own interest.
What sets our approach apart is measurable impact: we are not only countering Euroscepticism, but actively transforming it. Individuals who once supported anti-European parties are now committed advocates for the European project, standing with us against extremism.
Moving forward
Europe deserves a Union that is democratic, united, independent, and capable – a Europe that protects freedom while projecting strength. That is what we are building, together with pro-European forces across the continent.
We thank the local police for their professionalism and support in ensuring the safety of all participants.
We also acknowledge the stance of local political actors who chose not to engage in premature or unfounded condemnation. In a climate of increasing polarisation, such restraint reflects a commitment to fairness and institutional responsibility.
Finally, we thank our members and community. Experiences like this reinforce an important lesson: standing unapologetically for our values will attract resistance – but also sharpen our clarity, strengthen our resolve, and expand our reach.
We look forward to the next General Assembly.
With warm regards,
Ave Europa’s Board
